Job Description: Drives company straight truck or tractor/trailer over established route to deliver mobile home parts and supplies. Collects company checks and cash from COD customers. In most branches, drivers are required to travel out-of-state and be out overnight one to four nights per week.
Job Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Great customer service skills. Ability to speak effectively with customers. Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving situations such as customer service problems, delivery deadlines, weather conditions, etc. Must have a valid state Commercial Driver's License, good Motor Vehicle Report and valid Medical Card. Must be 21 years of age as required by Dept. of Transportation.
Essential Duties Include: Drives truck to deliver and unload items at customers' places of business. Collects payment from COD customers and deposits in truck safe. Records delivery information on delivery record. Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. Cleans inside of truck. Performs pre- and post trip inspections on truck and reports any necessary maintenance to the warehouse manager. Prepares DOT logs daily as required by Dept. of Transportation regulations. Position requires long periods of driving. Unloading product requires lifting and carrying up to 90 lbs., pushing and pulling with assistance of up to 350 lbs. Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching and grasping with both hands. Must meet all vision and physical requirements as regulated by the Dept. of Transportation.
