Job Description: Each Blevins branch has its own warehouse. Warehouse employees are responsible for receiving, storing and then distributing product for delivery to our customers. Since the warehouse staff is responsible for accurately filling customer orders and keeping damaged merchandise at a minimum, they are indeed a valuable part of our customer service chain.
Job Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; OR one to three months related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Essential Duties Include: Reading route schedules, customer/work/shipping orders and requisitions; sorting and storing product in its assigned place within the warehouse; pulling customer orders; opening crates, bales, etc.; recording merchandise shipped and received; maintaining inventory records; may possibly do record-keeping; may possibly drive forklift or other vehicle to transport heavy or large items.
Physical Demands: Employees are regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift/move 50- 125 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. May be required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; to talk and hear. Employees are also occasionally required to sit.
