Caution: The standard DLS model uses only red RV & Marine Anti-Freeze. Active ingredient PROPYLENE GLYCOL. Using any other fluid may void the warranty.
1. Air bubbles trapped in the line will cause slight variations. The larger the bubble the larger the variation. A bubble 1/4" or smaller (about the size of a pencil eraser) will generally not cause a noticeable problem. Larger bubbles should be bled out. To bleed the display- hold the display lower than the reservoir with the tubing pointed down. Back the brass hex bleed plug out until all the air bleeds out, then re-tighten the plug. If the air bubble is closer to the reservoir- hold the tubing so the air travels toward then into the reservoir. (You may have to shake the reservoir for the air to pass through the black adapter where the tubing connects to the reservoir.) Then follow the steps in section 2 below to remove the air from the reservoir.
2. Check the reservoir for the proper fluid level. If the reservoir is low, too full or has too much air trapped in it the readings will not hold steady. The reservoir should be approximately 2/3 full for ideal operation. To fill- set the reservoir on it's side with the bleed plug facing up- remove plug and fill completely- replace the plug loosely- set the reservoir flat- back the plug out until the fluid starts to drip out and bleed down to approximately 2/3 full. The diaphragm must have room to expand to allow for temperature changes.
3. There are two adjustments, (zero and scale), for fine tuning the level if necessary. Set the reel on it’s side- reservoir remaining strapped onto the reel- and the display set flat beside the reel. Adjust the display zero screw to read zero. Measure a table and adjust the display to read the exact height. (28.0 inches shown here.)

The warranty policy regarding Digital Leveling Systems electronic water level is as follows.
Digital Leveling Systems warrants the electronic water level against defects in material or workmanship at no charge for a period one year from the date of purchase. If a problem arises, the user is first instructed to contact DLS at 800-472-3741 or mikeeast@vci.net for technical assistance. If it is then determined by DLS to be a possible problem with the level, the user will be instructed to return the level to DLS. Upon inspection DLS will, at our option, repair or replace any defective components as is warranted at our discretion.
If the level is determined to be in proper working order, or damaged by the user, DLS will notify the user of any charges, before repairs are made or the level is returned.
The level is not designed to operate with more than 10 foot of vertical height difference between the display and reservoir. Exceeding this height differential will over-pressure the display and void the warranty. The display can also be over-pressured by: throwing the display, dropping a heavy object on- or stepping on the tubing near the display, freezing, pressure filling, etc. The display will not withstand a pressure surge that exceeds 5 lbs. Over-pressuring the display will rupture the transducer and voids the warranty.
Filling the level with any fluid other than RV Anti-freeze, active ingredient propylene glycol may void the warranty.
There is a $49 minimum service charge on levels not covered under warranty.
